• History of meditation around the world.

• How meditation can be used as a foundation for creating more harmony in your life.

• How you can see rewarding results in your life in 7 days from as little as 10 minutes a day and 4 days a week.

S.P.A.R.C.

Stress Prevention and Relief Course (SPARC). Mindfulness strategies and techniques for stress management - 3 hour

“Our greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another” - William James

Stress plays a major role in our every-day lives; it’s as commonplace as waking up each morning. Most of us don’t even realize the amount of time and energy spent each day on the array of stresses we’re hoarding while taking care of the task at hand.

SPARC was developed on the premise that if we understand how stress is created and how it affects our lives, we can use simple techniques to prevent stress in known stressful situations or quickly alleviate stress once it’s started.

Stress reduction is not just about improving the quality of our lives; it’s about getting the most out of everything we do in a day.

If you think about the current trends in business strategies, for example, Agile Development in high tech software companies, one of the main objectives is creating a corporate culture of empowered, self-organizing, self-managing teams with developers and testers. Imagine what could be achieved if each team member could manage and significantly lower his/her stress in this potentially hectic environment. Imagine what could be produced if each individual contributor re-directed all of his/her energy and time currently spent on stress toward being creative instead.

SPARC teaches the principles and provides quick-and-easy techniques to make this happen.

Mindfully Reduce your Anxiety is a 7 module in person program that is designed to help reduce the anxiety of people with mild to moderate anxiety. It is a very practical course with many exercises to help the participants see results in as little as a couple of weeks and greater results sooner rather than later.

The general content of the modules contains information about anxiety, practical exercises to help the student gain clarity on specifics about their anxiety, and meditative practices to help them create separation between their loving self and their anxiety that can then be developed through home practice.

The concepts that are used are ones that have been developed over many years ago for my own self-help and then tested over the last several years while teaching the Behavioral Health Courses, anxiety, depression, stress etc at a psychiatric hospital in San Jose.

Course Structure:

In Mindfully Reducing your Anxiety the goal is to teach people how to meditate and then for them to use the feelings generated in their meditative practice to give them a place to stand within themselves (this is called Mindfulness) to break the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) cycle in a more powerful and quick way.

The course material includes some general anxiety information to develop a deeper understanding about anxiety, home practice exercises and PDF worksheets to help participants frame and track their progress of change. - 6 hours
